John 15:7-10
If you abide in me and my words abide in you,
You will ask what you will and it will be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit. So you will be my disciples.
As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in my love. If you keep my commandments you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandment and abide in His love.
Introduction
Obedience to God is the key to grow as a christian. Many denominations have divers doctrines in order to remain in God’s kingdom. Jesus told us the right way. And that is to abide in Him. The key to assurance of salvation is to remain in Jesus who is our salvation. ( Example the Ship and the Captain and the life-saver.)
I. We should be rooted and grounded in His love. Ephesians 3:17
A. God’s calling is for us to be rooted in Christ. We are to remain in Him.
1. In order to remain in Him we are to obey His word. 1John 2:3-5
2. We are called to fellowship with Jesus. 1Cor. 1:9
3. If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. 1John 1:7
B. What are the benefits of being rooted in His love?
1. You will bear much fruit.
2. You will always have answered prayers.
3. You are assured of salvation.
4. You are covered and cleansed by the Blood of Jesus.
5. You have access to the Father.
6. You are blessed and the blessing of God is working on you.
7. You will bring souls to God. 1Tim. 4:16
II. To Him that is able… Ephesians 3:20-21
A. To do exceedingly abundantly
1. What we ask
2. What we think
B. According to the power that works in us. (the power of the Holy Spirit.)
C. To Him be glory in the Church by Christ Jesus to all generations forever.
