Numbers 6:23-26

And the Lord spoke to Aaron and his sons saying: “this is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them:
The Lord bless you and keep you.
The Lord make His face shine upon you.
And be gracious to you.
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you.
And give you peace.”
Introduction:
God commanded the High Priest to bless Israel with His blessing. He stated specifically the words that he will use to bless His people. Therefore these blessings are in accordance with His will. And if it is His will, He will surely bring it to pass upon you if you obey His voice and keep His commandments.
I. The Lord bless you and keep you. (Psalms 5:12) For you O Lord will bless the righteous.
With favor you will surround him as with a shield.
A. God’s blessing is upon the righteous.
1. Jesus is our righteousness. As we remain in Jesus, we are righteous in the sight of God. God sees the blood covering us and not our weaknesses.
2. Let us continue to do what is right and depart from all evil.
B. His favor will be our shield of protection.
II. The Lord make His face shine upon you. (Psalms 84:11)
For the Lord God is a sun and shield. The Lord will give grace and glory. No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
A. The Lord is like the sun that shines upon us. The sun gives life and light to us.
B. The Lord is a giver. He gives grace and glory. He will not withhold anything good for us.
III. And be gracious to you. (Psalms 103:11)
For as the heavens are high above the earth so great is His mercy towards those who fear Him.
A. The greatness of His mercy (expression of His Love) is immeasurable.
B. Those who fear the Lord are those who choose to obey God and keep His commandments.
IV. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you. (Psalms 115: 12-13)
The Lord has been mindful of us and He will bless us. …He will bless those who fear the Lord both small and great.
A. The Lord is thinking of you. You are the apple of His eyes. You are precious to Him.
B. God is not looking at your stature or your state of life. He will bless you as you continue to fear Him and obey Him.
V. And give you peace. (John 14:27)
Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let is be afraid.
A. Peace that Jesus gives is rest. It means prosperity. (Matthew 11:28)
B. Do not be afraid or be dismayed. Jesus is with us and no one can be against us.
l. As long as we obey Jesus and do what He tells us to do we are going to experience His provision and protection. We are going to prosper.
