Life and Death Situation

Deuteronomy 30: 19-20

I call heaven and earth as witness today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.

That you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days, and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.

Introduction:
1. You have been given a choice: Between life and death, blessing and cursing.
2. God commanded us to choose life.
a. to love the Lord your God.
b. to obey His voice.
c. to cling to Him.

3. If you choose otherwise,
To hate the Lord and to disobey His voice and to abandon Him, you are choosing death and cursing
I. God’s blessing is upon those who obey Him.
A. Luke 11:28.
But He said: “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it.”

A. God’s blessing are on those who do the Word of God. Luke 8:19-22.
Then His mother and brothers came to Him, and could not approach Him because of the crowd. And it was told Him by some who said, “Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside desiring to see You.”


But He answered and said to them: “My mother and brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”
B. God’s blessing makes you prosperous.
Proverbs 10:22.
The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.
C. God’s blessing brings 3 fold prosperity. Psa. 128:1-2
Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways.
When you eat the labor of your hands, you shall be happy and it shall be well with you.

1. You will eat from your wages. You are going to benefit from the fruit of your hands.

2. You will be happy!!!

3. You will enjoy the good life.

II. Obeying God’s voice
And doing what pleases Him will assure you of
Answer to your prayers.
A. John 15:7
If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
1 John 3:22
And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
