Teacher , which is the great commandment in the law?
l Jesus said to him, “you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” …”you shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the Prophets.
Introduction
Who is the one who loves the Lord according to Jesus. He who has my commandments and keeps them it is he who loves me… John 14:21. Loving God is not an option. It is a commandment.
Love for others begin with love for self. We are commanded to love others as we love ourselves. Learn to respect, forgive, appreciate and esteem high yourself.
I. Love of God.
A. The Holy Spirit pours the love of God in our hearts.
1. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with His Love so you can really worship and love God with a sincere heart.
2. Love is a decision and not a feeling. It is a tangible substance that we can contain in our hearts. Let the Holy Spirit always fill you with His love so you can give your love to God.
3. Open your heart to the Holy Spirit.
B. God has a great desire to be loved by His children.
1. There is no option. We must love Him.
2. You must draw near to Him so that He will draw near to you. James 4:8.
3. Meet the need of God by loving Him.
4. How do we love Him?
a. Keep His word. And do His will.
b. Express your love by worshipping Him.
c. keep yourself away from idols.!John5:21
II. Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
A. Who is my neighbor?
1. one who is in need. James 2:14-20
2. one who is in your sphere of influence.
3. your loved ones and friends.
B. What you want others to do to you do so to them.
1. You want them to treat you well. Treat them well without expecting a return from them.
2. you want them to be faithful to you, be faithful to them.
