The Anointing of the Holy Spirit

Introduction
The Works of the Flesh and the fruit of the Holy Spirit are clearly seen in peoples’ lives.
For us to shine as light in the world we need the anointing of the Holy Spirit and walk in
Him so that we will not fulfill the desires of the flesh
The Holy Spirit and the flesh are contrary to each other.

I. Those who practice the works of the flesh are evident.
A. What are the works of the flesh
1. Adultery
2. Fornication
3. Uncleanness
4. Lewdness (sensuality)
5. Idolatry
6. Sorcery
7. Hatred
8. Contention
9. Jealousies
10. Outburst of wrath
11. Selfish ambition
12. Dissensions (factions)
13. Heresies
14. Envy
15. Murders
16. Drunkenness
17 Revelries (carousing)
18. And the like

B. Those who practice those things will not
Inherit the kingdom of God.
It means they will not make it to heaven.
It means they are going to hell.
It means they will spend eternity not with the Lord Jesus Christ.
It means they will be eaten by worms that will not die and be burned by fire that cannot be quenched forever.

II. The anointing will destroy the yoke. (Isaiah 10:27)
A. We destroy the works of the flesh by the Holy Spirit. (Romans 8:13)
B. Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16)

III. The Parable of the Ten Virgins. Matthew 25:1-13
A. The five wise virgins had more than enough oil.
B. The five foolish virgins did not have oil reserve. They were not ready to face the Groom. (Jesus Christ)
C. Jesus is admonishing us to be ready for His coming. He said: Watch.

IV. Be filled with the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 5:18-19
A. Be filled with the Holy Spirit.
B. How to be filled.
1. Worship to God.
2. Ask the Father for the Holy Spirit filling. (Luke 11:13)
